Miller-Bradford & Risberg Inc., (MBR) of Sussex, WI, hosted its 2000 MBR Golf Classic to benefit the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer (MACC) Fund on Sept. 21, at Ironwood Golf Course, Sussex. The event raised $45,000 for the MACC Fund.
There were 125 participants including customers, manufacturers, suppliers, employees and friends of MBR. The participants enjoyed 18 holes of golf, lunch, dinner, contests and auctions.
Many customers, manufacturers and suppliers sponsored holes on the course, in addition to participating.
Terex Americas sponsored all of the hole-in-one contests, of which one prize was a new Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The Case Corporation was the event sponsor and also donated $5,000.
More than 50 items were donated to the voice and silent auction. The voice auction of 14 premium items included Chicago Blackhawks Luxury Box tickets, a Topcon RL-HB laser and a pheasant hunting trip, which raised an incredible $23,000.
The MACC Fund is an organization dedicated to the research and elimination of childhood cancer. This was the third year for the MBR Golf Classic, which has raised in total more than $125,000.
There is no date set for the 2001 MBR Golf Classic, however it will be held on a Thursday in September. More information will be available by the spring of 2001.
