Syracuse Equipment Owner Thomas Lonergan, 65, Dies

Thomas Joseph Lonergan, 65, of North Syracuse, N.Y., passed away on June 23, 2007.

Lonergan was born on July 4, 1941, and was a lifelong resident of North Syracuse. He owned and operated Syracuse Equipment Company for more than 20 years.

He is survived by his mother, Genevieve (Squire) Lonergan, as well as his loving wife of 43 years, Patricia (Hafner) Lonergan; his three sons, Luke (Jackie) of Brewerton, N.Y., Paul (Judith) and George (Carol) of Cicero, N.Y.; three sisters, Patricia Nicholson (Don), Christine Stahlecker and Suzanne Fries (Mark); five loving grandchildren, Chloe, Jared, Blake, Jack and George Lonergan; along with aunts, uncle, nieces and nephews. Lonergan was predeceased by his father, F.J. Lonergan, in 1964 and by his brother, Lawrence J. Lonergan, in 2002.

Funeral services were conducted on June 27 at St. Margaret’s Church in Mattydale. Burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dewitt.
