Jeff Martin Auctioneers Inc. announced this year's George W. Martin Memorial Auctioneer Scholarship winner. The winner was chosen from a talented pool of students seeking to gain their auction license. This year's winner of the George W. Martin Memorial Auctioneer Scholarship is Zach Hodge from Laurel, Miss. Hodge attended Nashville Auctioneers School July 9 to 17 in Tullahoma, Tenn. Nashville Auction School is a well-known starting point where many local auctioneers have learned their profession.

Hodge will be attending Jones County Junior College located in Jones County, Miss., in the Fall of 2016.

Jeff Martin Auctioneers, Inc. awards one student a full-tuition scholarship to the Nashville Auction School each year for those students eager to learn more about the auction industry and profession.

“I am glad that Zach was chosen for the inaugural George Martin memorial scholarship. George loved the auction industry and always provided young auctioneers the time to help them in any way. George believed in helping others and I am sure he would be proud of Zach for having the desire to become an auctioneer. This scholarship was established in order to allow young adults the opportunity to attend auction school and to carry on George's tradition of helping others,” said Jeff Martin, president and CEO of Jeff Martin Auctioneers Inc.

Jeff Martin Auctioneers Inc. was founded in November 2009 as Martin & Martin Auctioneers of MS. In June of 2014, the company changed its name to Jeff Martin Auctioneers Inc. Since that time, the company has secured major contracts for several large municipal customers and large industrial customers throughout the Southern and Central United States.

“I can honestly say I am the most fortunate man in the world. I love going to work every day. It is true — find a job you enjoy, and you will never work a day in your life,” said Jeff Martin.
