Doosan Portable Power dealer Blanchard Machinery Inc. of Miami, Fla., has added a newly branded pink LSC (LightSource Compact) light tower to its rental fleet by winning a lottery in October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

All Doosan Portable Power dealers in the United States and Canada had the opportunity to enter the lottery for the chance to purchase one of three pink Doosan Portable Power machines — the LSC light tower, a G25 mobile generator and a P185 portable air compressor.

The three pieces of equipment were painted pink to raise breast cancer awareness within the industry and support the Charlotte Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the U.S.’s leading breast cancer awareness and research organization.

“When we saw that Doosan Portable Power was promoting breast cancer awareness, we also wanted to support the cause,” said Scott Baxter, president of Blanchard Machinery. “We’ve been affected personally — and businesswise — by breast cancer.

“We’re eager to take ownership of the LSC. It will be utilized as part of our rental fleet and we’re going to try to rent it primarily for use at special events to continue to raise awareness and publicize the cause.”

The LSC light tower is designed to meet rigorous rental standards. The LSC is ideal for illumination of special events, road and bridge construction, emergency and disaster relief, and general construction sites, according to the manufacturer.

The LSC portable light tower features a compact platform for job site mobility as well as truckload maximization. The light tower also utilizes up to 20 percent less space during storage and full operational deployment compared to the industry average, while maintaining its wind stability, static roll threshold and 30-ft. (9 m) extension capabilities.

The LSC is designed and manufactured in America at the Doosan Portable Power global headquarters in Statesville, N.C., an ISO 9001 facility.

With Blanchard Machinery’s purchase of the pink LSC, Doosan Portable Power donated $2,000 to the Charlotte Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Through Blanchard Machinery headquarters in North Miami, Fla., and two branch locations in South Miami and West Palm Beach, the company services the light equipment needs of South Florida, the Bahamas, Caribbean and Latin America. Blanchard Machinery has been working with Doosan Portable Power equipment since its inception in 1946.
