Day of the Dozers is a unique, fun-filled family event that promotes the construction industry.
Thu July 28, 2016 - Midwest Edition
The Minnesota Utility Contractors Association (MUCA) will be hosting its 4th Day of the Dozers event to benefit Children's Hospitals and Clinics on September 24, 2016 at the ERX Motor Park in Elk River. Last year over $30,000 was raised to sponsor an Infusion Room at the C.H. Robinson Infusion Center. This year the goal is to raise $40,000 for the St. Paul Ronald McDonald House.
Day of the Dozers is a unique, fun-filled family event that promotes the construction industry, shares safety messages with the public, while at the same time raising money for Children's Hospitals and Clinics.
“The kids get to ride big equipment like backhoes, excavators, and bulldozers with a trained and qualified operator in a safe environment. We also incorporate safety messages about gas and electric utilities as an educational component”, said Stephanie Menning, MUCA's Executive Director. “We want to raise awareness in the community about the great opportunities and good-paying jobs the construction industry offers. The joy on the kids' faces and the donations to Children's Hospitals make it a win-win-win situation.”
Contractors can participate in two ways; either through simple dollar donations or become a Day of the Dozer Diamond Equipment Sponsor.
DOLLAR DONATIONS:
Your company may consider donating to one of four donation levels:
• Bronze Shovel $250
• Silver Scoop $500
• Golden Bucket $1,000
• Platinum Trench $2,000
DAY OF THE DOZER DIAMOND EQUIPMENT SPONSOR:
This is a specific event activity that allows your organization to partner with Day of the Dozers by hosting an activity. Activities include the following:
• Equipment for static display – show off your construction equipment or other vehicles (safety trucks, jeeps, cranes, etc.) in our static display area –adjacent to the track.
• Equipment (with a qualified operator) for active participation in the event providing rides to the children on the track (we will contact you regarding equipment requested/needed for the event).
• Support equipment – this could include fencing, barriers, or cones for crowd control and safety, or other equipment as needed to support the event.
The benefits of participating include your company being recognized in a number of ways before, during and after the event. As families enter the motor park, a large banner will display your company name and sponsor level. The event map will list all sponsors by level. All sponsors will be recognized with a full page thank-you ad in MUCA's Underground Press magazine. Day of the Dozers Diamond Equipment Sponsors, Golden Bucket Sponsors and Platinum Trench Sponsors will receive year-round logo promotion on the Day of the Dozers website.
