Construction Equipment Guide

The 9500 is the latest machine in GOMACO’s full line of concrete paving equipment to receive its proprietary and exclusive G+ control system and G+ Connect. G+ on the 9500 also brought about other updates on the multi-application machine, applications that include trimming, concrete and asphalt placing, and shoulder trimming. The wiring in the 9500 operator’s console has been redesigned and reorganized, rear steer control is now offered for the first time, trimmer load control can now be monitored on a digital readout, and several other features have been added with G+ for the ultimate operating experience.

G+ on the 9500 allows an updated CAN-based operator’s remote control with a digital machine control display. The new remote features soft push pads for selection buttons for conveyor control and travel and steering. A joystick on the remote allows for new proportional control and movement of the 9500’s discharge conveyor. Connections for the operator’s remote control are located at the front and rear of the operator’s platform. The 9500 now features two ground level remotes. The G+ MiniMote assists in connecting the trimmerhead or hopper, and loading the machine. The second new remote is for the 9500’s hopper when the machine is being used as a concrete placer. The operator can use it to control the hitch when locking onto dump trucks, vibration in the hopper, and raising and lowering the machine to adjust the height of the hopper. Both of the ground remotes can be operated from either side of the 9500.

The 9500 now has rear steer control allowing it to easily and accurately back up on stringline. It also has a digital readout for trimmerhead load control. The readout shows pressure and flow during the trimming process and will automatically slow the machine down during a heavy trim. The 9500 will operate on stringline, 3D stringless controls and G+ features an entire library of sensor capabilities for controlling slope, grade and steer with set-up configurations for any project requirement. This includes 3D stringless systems, laser controls, sonic sensors, rotary sensors, slope sensors, and all of their set-up requirements. Just connect to G+ Connect and the G+ controller automatically recognizes the control system and allows two-way communication.

Within the console of the 9500 you’ll see the results of GOMACO’s new wiring management initiative. The goal of the initiative is cleanliness, easy to follow labeling, reorganization and the redistribution of wiring. The goal was accomplished. The 9500’s G+ console features a master controller assembly and power distribution center for fast and precise control with clean and orderly wiring and labeling for easy troubleshooting. The design layout of the console also has been reorganized with the hydraulics separated from the electronics. Two sliding and locking covers protect the panels.

The two-track 9500 with front-mounted trimmer allows trimming to the end of each pass or within inches of obstacles. The powerful single-drive, hydrostatic motor offers ultimate production. The steady, easily controlled travel speed guarantees accurate trimming and job site mobility. The 9500 can make a 360 degree turn within its own length for maximum maneuverability around a job site that has challenging conditions. The 9500’s rear conveyor has a 36 in. (91.4 cm) wide belt and a 34.7 ft. (10.6 m) long reach during machine operation, and a conveyor belt speed of 504 ft. per minute (153.6 mpm) allows fast placing of concrete or removal of trimmed material. The rear conveyor has a 160 degree swing with hydraulic height adjustment up to 12 ft. (3.7 m). The optional hydraulically folding rear conveyor allows job site mobility, safe operation and transportability.

The 9500 is user-friendly and operator safe with an operator’s station that is efficient and allows visibility over the entire operation. All GOMACO machines featuring the G+ control system have an operator’s horn and a back-up alarm. The operator’s remote control has an emergency stop button on the side and there are several emergency stops located around the 9500.

GOMACO will showcase a full paving train in its booth, including a PS-2600 placer/spreader, four-track GHP-2800 slipform paver, and the new T/C-5600 texture/cure machine. G+ technology also will be featured in GOMACO’s largest ConExpo-Con/AGG display ever. The G+ advantage for high-production curb and gutter, sidewalk, safety barrier, half-width and full-width paving, variable width paving, and paving with automatic dowel bar insertion will be on display. The newest updates for the GSI, the GOMACO smoothness indicator tool for reading and achieving optimum rideability results, will be showcased. The C-450 bridge deck finisher will round out GOMACO’s display in Booth 51059 in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
