The Board of Metso Corporation, as well as the Metso President and CEO, and Metso CFO, recently toured Mellott Company's headquarters in Warfordsburg, Pa. Prompting the visit was Metso's recognition of Mellott Company as Metso's 2016 Outstanding Distributor of the Year. Consequently, the board members were eager to meet Mellott Company's organization and get a first-hand look at what makes Mellott Company the leading global distributor of Metso.

The Metso visitors were treated to an extensive tour of the facilities, as well as presentations about several Mellott operations located off-campus. The guests witnessed the foundation of Mellott Company's dynamic operating strategy which blends the following key functions:

• Application engineering for proper equipment selection

• Custom contract processing which includes full customer support service to turn customer's resources into profitable end products

• Repair and maintenance solutions with skilled technical personnel

• Precision rebuild services to renew process equipment

• Rental of capital processing equipment.

The visitors toured several areas of the 100-acre-campus and observed operations in the repair and maintenance shops, warehouse, application engineering and fabrication shop.

The day concluded with a commemorative tree planting ceremony during which each board member had a sugar maple tree dedicated in their respective names.

The board members had an opportunity to see one of the first Metso GP 7 crushers that was installed in the USA by Mellott Company.

The Metso guests of Mellott Company included: Mikael Lilius, board chairman; Christer Gardell, board vice-chairman; Ozey K. Horton Jr., board member; Arja Talma, board member; Peter Carlsson, board member; Lars Josefsson, board member; Nina Kopola, board member; Raimo Brand, personnel representative; Nico Delvaux, president and CEO; Markku Simula, president aggregates equipment; Eeva Sipilä, CFO; Aleksi Lebedeff, VP general counsel; Terry Wilkins, VP global key account management; Simon Pelletier, VP USA and Canada markets; and Pipsa Pohjavirta, executive assistant.

Mellott Company is a fourth-generation, family-owned business established in 1920 by Herman Benjamin "H.B." Mellott.
