Timothy J. Watters Named President of New Jersey’s Hoffman Equipment

Timothy J. Watters has been named president and chief operating officer of Hoffman Equipment, Piscataway, NJ. The appointment was announced by William A. Hoffman Jr., chairman of Hoffman Equipment and its parent company, Hoffman International Inc. Hoffman is a domestic and international heavy equipment sales, service and rental organization focusing domestically, the market for which Watters will be responsible, in the New Jersey/southern New York area.

Watters brings 15 years of experience in the heavy equipment business to his new assignment.

After a year as an instructor in marketing and management at Clarkson, he joined Hoffman Equipment as a sales representative in 1985. During two years in this assignment, Watters significantly expanded the customer base and increased sales in his three-county territory.

Watters was named assistant sales manager in 1987 and vice president of sales in 1993. In these positions, he assumed increasing responsibility for equipment sales, leasing and rentals, sales staff hiring and promotion, sales-service interaction, marketing, trade shows, promotional events and equipment manufacturer relations.

He was elected by the dealer council of Daewoo Heavy Industries America Inc. to be its chairman in 1998. He also is a member of the board of directors of the NJ Equipment Dealers Association and serves as the group’s vice president.

As president of Hoffman Equipment, Watters will have full responsibility for all aspects of marketing and product support for the full line of construction and material handling equipment for customers throughout New Jersey and southern New York.

The Hoffman product lines include Allied construction products excavator attachments; Allied Gator shears; American cranes; Badger excavators; Daewoo excavators, wheel loaders and dozers; Dynapac pavers and compactors; Etnyre trailers; Liebherr scrap handlers; Little Giant cranes; Rosco asphalt road maintenance machinery; Terex/Lorain cranes; and Terex/P&H/PPM cranes and container handlers.
